Deep Space Nine was the second Star Trek Spin-off set in the same time as the Next Generation... In many ways this series was the furthest from Gene Roddenberry's original vision...

As much as I love TOS, DS9 in my opinion was the best written, directed, produced, and acted of all the ST series'.

No other Trek series had such a rich tapestry of characters and stories.

Truly brilliant science fiction television.
